The Woodlands, TX – The 43nd Annual 4th of July Parade, “United We Stand,” will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the singing of the national anthem from the balcony in Market Street also at Town Green Park.  More than 20,000 spectators will line the streets in Town Center to celebrate.

In accordance with this year’s parade theme, “United We Stand,” the coveted Parade Grand Marshal Position has been awarded to two Woodlands residents. Christine Clinkenbeard named Community Grand Marshal for her efforts in helping Hurricane Harvey victims and Charles Abelretired Lt. Commander of the US Navy named Military Grand Marshal.

The parade will have 150 entries, including five marching bands and federal, state and local dignitaries, through the 1.3 mile parade route in The Woodlands Town Center. The parade is funded through community donation and the parade would not occur without the support of The Woodlands Township.

Prior to the parade, street performers will entertain parade goers, along with The Woodlands Concert Band in Market Street. “The committee is once again excited to have one of the largest military presences of any parade in the region,” said Anna Anklam, Vice President of Community and Military Dignitaries. The parade is produced with help from 200 volunteers, including special guest announcers Nick Wolda, President of CVB, and Ramon Torres. Three additional DJ/announcer booths are placed around the parade route. Up to 11 community parade entry judges rate the entries to culminate with twelve parade entry awards.

Attendees are encouraged to follow the parking plan for the Red, Hot and Blue Festival.

The parade and surrounding activities will take place rain or shine. For more information about the event and how to become a sponsor for this year’s parade, visit www.4thofjuly.org.
