MARKET STREET ANNOUNCES 2018 HOLIDAY SEASON EVENTS

THE WOODLANDS, TX (October 29, 2018) – The holidays are right around the corner, and Market Street-The Woodlands is planning a variety of events and fun for the whole family throughout the entire season.

“With an exciting renovation underway here at Market Street, we wanted to be sure and let our guests know what to expect during the holidays,” said Marketing Director Noemi Gonzalez. “We will have a few changes to the calendar this year, but Market Street will still be a wonderful place to gather with family and friends and enjoy the season.”

Tree Lighting

While there will not be an official “Market Street in Lights” tree lighting event due to restricted access to Central Park, guests can still enjoy the soaring, 70-foot Christmas tree with its synchronized twinkling lights and holiday music.

More than 25,000 multi-colored lights will adorn the tree, which will perform a synchronized light show every hour on the half hour from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. beginning on Friday, November 16. The presentation will continue nightly throughout the holiday season.

Smile with Santa

Who brings lots of Christmas cheer for little boys and girls who have been good all year? Santa Claus himself will be greeting children of all ages as Market Street continues the much-loved holiday tradition of photos with Santa. Children can have their photos taken with jolly ol’ St. Nick beginning Friday, November 16 through Monday, December 24, 2018.

Santa Claus is coming to town to share the magic and wonder of the season in space 1270 next to Ideal Image where young visitors may have their photos taken and, of course, whisper their wish list to St. Nick.

Twelve Days of Christmas – Beginning December 1

Guests at Market Street – The Woodlands will feel the spirit of the holiday season as they enjoy activities and performances that mirror the traditional holiday story – the Twelve Days of Christmas. Each day will bring either a unique event, or a live musical or dance performance from a local school or community group.

On the First Day of Christmas, December 1, carolers will be performing holiday favorites near the Christmas tree, and a live partridge as well as a Pear Cider Pop Up will be featured for guests to enjoy. Each day throughout the Twelve Days of Christmas will bring more holiday fun.

Grand Chanukah Celebration

The tradition continues as Market Street once again hosts a Grand Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting as presented by Chabad of The Woodlands on Sunday, December 2 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Led by Rabbi Mendel Blecher, the lighting of a nine-foot, seven-branched menorah will take place at 4:00 p.m. with traditional Chanukah food and musical entertainment and fun for

guests of all ages following the ceremony. This marks the eighth year Market Street has hosted the Grand Chanukah Celebration for the local community.
