[The Woodlands, TX.] The community is invited to celebrate World Habitat Day with Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TX (Habitat Montgomery County), with a wall build at Market Street on Friday, October 7 starting at 12:30 p.m. The celebration will highlight the global movement emphasizing the importance of everyone having the right to a safe place to call home. At the event, walls will be built by volunteers and Habitat Staff that will later be used as the framework for a home constructed in Habitat Montgomery County’s Cedar Creek Development located in Conroe. After the walls are complete, they will be available for the community to sign encouraging messages and blessings for the family that will occupy the home. There will also be opportunities to learn more about how Habitat Montgomery County contributes to our community and an opportunity to donate to the organization. Face painters, yard games and a balloon artist will be present, so make sure to bring the whole family!The event is sponsored by Market Street, Entergy, McCoy’s Building Supply and Ovintiv. For every dollar raised during the week of World Habitat Day, Ovinitv will match it dollar for dollar up to $5,000. The event will end at 4:30 pm when the walls will be transported to Cedar Creek.This week we are joining forces with Habitat organizations from across the world to raise awareness about the importance of safe and decent shelter for all.
