Code of Conduct

MARKET STREET CODE OF CONDUCT

Welcome to Market Street. As a privately owned property, our goal is to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all guests. To help us maintain this standard, all visitors are expected to comply with the following Code of Conduct.

 

Definitions:

  • “Management” means Market Street management, its authorized staff, contractors, and security personnel acting within the scope of their duties.
  • “Disruptive behavior” means conduct that threatens safety, unreasonably interferes with property operations, obstructs access, or disturbs guests, tenants, or staff.
  • “Loitering” means remaining on the property without a legitimate purpose after warning, refusing reasonable directions to move along, or occupying space in a way that interferes with pedestrian flow, business access, or safe operations.
  • “Personal transportation device” means skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, roller skates, roller blades, bicycles, mini-bikes, and similar recreational devices, but does not include wheelchairs or other mobility devices used as disability accommodation.

 

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Appropriate Attire:
    Guests must always wear appropriate attire, including shirts and shoes. Face coverings such as ski masks, full-face hoodies, or similar items are prohibited, except for religious or medically necessary coverings. Swimwear and incomplete attire (including infants in diapers only) are not permitted. Management reserves the right to determine appropriate attire and may require non-compliant individuals to leave the property.
  • Respectful Behavior:
    All guests are expected to demonstrate courtesy and respect toward others. Fighting, obscene gestures, offensive language, ethnic slurs, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Minors:
    All children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult and must always remain supervised while on the property.
  • Smoking Policy:
    Smoking is prohibited in all green space areas and within 15 feet of any building entrance. Designated smoking areas at certain establishments are exempt.
  • Pets:
    Domestic pets are permitted but must always remain leashed and under the owner’s control. Aggressive animals must be removed immediately upon request. Pets are not allowed in landscaped areas, grass areas, or on turf within the green space. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.
  • Loitering:
    Loitering or lingering without purpose is not permitted on the property.

 

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

The following activities are strictly prohibited unless prior written approval is obtained from Market Street Management:

  • Unauthorized events, demonstrations, performances, assemblies, promotional activations, scavenger hunts, or similar organized activities.
  • Selling, displaying, advertising, or distributing goods, services, samples, printed materials, petitions, or recorded materials.
  • Soliciting money, donations, signatures, or contributions.
  • Using amplified sound, megaphones, or sound equipment that disturbs normal operations.
  • Commercial photography, videography, filming, interviews, or content creation for promotional, advertising, or revenue-generating purposes. Casual personal photography that does not disrupt operations, endanger others, invade privacy, or involve prohibited equipment may be permitted.
  • Operating drones or other unmanned aircraft anywhere on or over the property, except with prior written approval and full legal compliance.
  • Bring unauthorized tents, tables, booths, signage, banners, flags, props, or structures onto the property.
  • Running through crowds, throwing objects, horseplay, rough housing, jumping on furniture, rocks, or installations, climbing trees, structures, fences, planters, artwork, or decorative features, or playing pick-up sports such as football or soccer in common areas.
  • Organized sports, athletic practices, drills, games, or team activities are not permitted in the park, green space, turf, or common areas. Balls and similar recreational objects may not be thrown, kicked, hit, tossed, or otherwise made airborne.
  • Riding, operating, or storing personal transportation devices in green space, walkways, plazas, or other pedestrian-heavy areas, except where expressly permitted by posted rules or management. This restriction does not apply to wheelchairs or other mobility devices used as a disability accommodation.
  • Blocking entrances, exits, sidewalks, fire lanes, stairs, ramps, tenant storefronts, emergency equipment, or access routes.
  • Entering staff-only, tenant-only, service, roof, landscape, fountain, or otherwise restricted areas.
  • Loitering, camping, sleeping, lying on benches or planters in a manner inconsistent with their intended use, or remaining on the property without a legitimate purpose after being asked to move, disperse, or leave.
  • Damaging, defacing, misusing, or removing property belonging to Market Street, tenants, guests, or contractors.
  • Any conduct that interferes with Market Street operations, emergency response, scheduled programming, or the safety and enjoyment of the property.

 

PROPERTY RIGHTS AND ENFORCEMENT

  • Right of Removal:
    Market Street Management reserves the right to deny entry or require any individual to leave the property at any time for failure to comply with this Code of Conduct.
  • Operational Authority:
    Management reserves the right to modify operating hours, close areas, or cancel events and programming at its discretion.
  • Liability Disclaimer:
    Market Street is not responsible for damage to vehicles or personal property brought onto the premises.
  • Media Release:
    By entering the property, guests consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded. These materials may be used for promotional or operational purposes without compensation.

 

SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE

Market Street staff and security personnel are present 24/7 to maintain a safe environment and enforce this Code of Conduct. Security officers and staff have the authority to enforce policies, address violations, and remove or ban individuals who fail to comply.

 

OPEN CARRY NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.
